The Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the
environment, and alleviating poverty.
The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotary members and friends of the Foundation who share its
vision of a better world. This support is essential to Foundation grants, which bring sustainable improvement to communities in need.
Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects, through its different programs.
Since 1988, Rotary and our partners have immunized nearly 3 billion children against polio. As of June 2025, Rotary had committed more than $2.8 billion in PolioPlus Grants to global polio eradication. We’re still working to eliminate the wild poliovirus in the last two countries where it remains endemic and to ensure that it does not return elsewhere.
In 2024-25, program awards, including PolioPlus Partners grants, totaled $151.0 million.
At the Rotary Club of Mont Choisy, we remain focused on this program, hence our major fundraising activity in 2026, for which funds will go to the PolioPlus Program.
Each year, the Foundation supports the training of peace fellows at Rotary Peace Centers, where they earn master’s degrees or professional development certificates. Since 2002-03, 1,800 fellows from more than 140 countries have participated.
In 2024-25, 101 fellows from 48 countries began their studies at eight Rotary Peace Centers, and program awards for the fellows and centers totaled $5.2 million.
District grants support small-scale, short-term projects related to the Foundation’s mission. In 2024-25, the Foundation approved 468 district grants, and program
awards totaled $27.8 million.
Global grants fund large-scale international activities with sustainable, measurable results that support Rotary’s areas of focus. Activities include humanitarian projects, scholarships, and vocational training teams.
In 2024-25, the Foundation approved 1,423 global grants, and program awards totaled $81.0 million.
Rotary’s disaster response grants support relief and recovery efforts in areas that have
been affected by natural disasters within the past six months.
In 2024-25, the Foundation approved 74 disaster response grants, and program awards totaled $1.8 million.
Programs of Scale grants empower Rotary members to work with experienced partners
to implement large-scale, high-impact projects over three to five years to benefit a large
number of people.
Pathways to Peace and Prosperity in Colombia, which aims to
establish Positive Peace hubs in four urban and rural communities in Colombia to
strengthen their capacity to resolve conflicts while addressing persistent societal
inequalities, was awarded the 2024-25 grant of $2 million and was matched by
$4 million in funding from our partners.
